‘My Story’

Developing a resource to improve knowledge around disability rights

We are excited to announce that we have received funding from the Department of Social Services  to develop a resource to improve the knowledge and skills of NDIS staff and participants around disability rights.

Using theatrical performance, ‘My Story’ will take audiences on a journey that challenges stereotypes and accepted practice.  Co-designed and told by people with disability, the production will present disability rights in a way that is personal and authentic and, with accompanying education packs, will guide people through focused discussion and reflection.

‘My Story’ will be led by ARRCH partner, Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, and delivered as part of a consortium of rural and regional Victorian community health organisations.  The funding is part of the $4.57 million Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program administered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
